These online workshops will cover a review of condition specific information, key findings / elements of presentation for discussion, exercise considerations in rehabilitation, and case based examples of applications.

Group format will also enable discussions and specific learning based around cases / clients you may be working with. My goal is to make these engaging and to provide you with the information you need to assist your clients. They will run between 1-2 hours in length.

Courses proposed include

1. Long Term Back Pain Rehab
Long term presentations including discal derangement / compression loading intolerance, failed prior rehabilitation attempts etc.
Key elements presented will include – What to watch, what to consider, what to do different, how to know where to start and when to progress.

2. Back Pain / Nerve Pain Rehab : Nerve Root Impingement vs Sciatica
Understanding pathophysiology, watching key presentation elements and interpreting symptoms. Key question : How is this going to change my rehabilitation approach? Case based scenarios discussed.

3. Lumbar Spine Stability
Lumbo-pelvic stability exercises and sequencing : ensuring optimal stability ahead of loading. What, when, why, how including testing to determine starting point and progression sequences.

4. Thoracic Spine Mechanics and Rehab
i) the importance of the lumbothoracic junction in spinal mechanics,
ii) the roll of the mid thoracic spine in cervical and lumbar injuries
iii) postural restoration : endurance / mobility / stability.
Identifying issues and providing exercise and stretch solutions.

5. Exercise for SIJ dysfunction
Hypo vs hyper mobility and how to tackle it with rehabilitation.

6 Post pregnancy Lumbo-pelvic Strength Recovery
Restoration of functional fitness, coping with the new lifestyle, considerations for exercise progressions. When, What, How and Cautions.

7 Spine health for older patients
Safe exercise for older spines when there is underlying possibilities of stenosis, reductions in bone strength, and co-morbities. How to prioritise exercise choices and minimise injury risk.

Shoulders and Health Focused Rehab – Bite Sized Seminars

Virtual workshops covering i) key common shoulder injuries seen clinically (NB -This is a breakdown of the making sense of the shoulder workshop, but focuses further each session on pathophysiology specifics); and ii) health focused fitness.

Courses proposed include

9 Rotator Cuff Rehab
Includes shoulder and musculature review, presentation characteristics, sequencing for rehabilitation, integration into advanced / later phased rehabilitation

10 Frozen Shoulders, stiffened shoulders, older shoulders – considerations

11 Shoulder Instabilities
Sequencing exercise to achieve recovery where possible.

12 Moving from clinical to gym based rehabilitation for shoulder injuries
When to progress, loading sequences, pre-work that needs to be established.

13 Woman and Ageing (Half Day Workshop)
Counteracting the physiological effects of hormonal depletion through exercise.
Its not just about bone health – What should you be targeting? How and Why?

14 Shoulder Strength
Managing shoulder niggles in lifting / strength based athletes
What to look for to determine potential causes, exercise gaps, assessing to determine dysfunction.

15 Training for Weight Loss
Ensuring the ground work is done to minimise the risk of injury.
Loading volumes for overweight clients are substantive. How much are you considering joint cartilage, tendon and fascia tolerance, and discal state when prescribing your exercise programs.
Time to seriously consider your options.

16 Training for Bone Health
Understanding bone physiology, the changes that occur with disuse, deloading, aging and hormonal fluctuations. How to target this optimally through exercise.
